Is Marathon Free to Play?

No. Marathon is a premium, paid game.

Unlike Destiny 2's current model, Bungie has chosen a premium box-price for Marathon. This means a one-time purchase of the Standard Edition gives you full access to the game. Bungie has stated there are no pay-to-win mechanics, and all future gameplay updates (new maps, modes, and Runner shells) are included with the base game at no extra cost.
